On May 12th, which is International Nurses Day, as well as the 50th anniversary celebration of UBTH (University of Benin Teaching Hospital) in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Representatives from Yongxing Steel Company, including Mr. Yu Sun, the Assistant General Manager, and Mr. Chen Jilin, the Head of Security Department, attended the event. The event was graced by the presence of various invited guests from government institutions, including former President Dr. Yakubu, the Chief of Benin Oba Kingdom, Governor Mr. Godwin N. Obaseki of Edo State, and the Minister of Health of Nigeria, Dr. Osagie E. Ehanire CON.
Over the years, Yongxing Steel Company Nigeria has maintained a friendly cooperative relationship with UBTH (University of Benin Teaching Hospital). On May 4, 2023, Mr. Quanfa Wang, the Deputy general manager of Yongxing Steel Company, had a friendly meeting with Dr. Obaseki, the Director of UBTH (Benin University Teaching Hospital), and on behalf of the company, Mr. Quanfa Wang made a donation of 2 million Naira and offered blessings for the successful of the UBTH 50th anniversary celebration. The donated funds will be utilized not only for the expenses related to the hospital's anniversary celebration but also for conducting community medical training, providing free cancer screenings, subsidizing the surgical costs for financially challenged patients, and organizing community healthcare initiatives.
Dr. Obaseki, the Director of UBTH, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous sponsorship provided by Yongxing Steel Company Nigeria. He praised and acknowledged the selfless efforts of the company in fulfilling its social responsibilities and contributing to the development of the healthcare industry. Dr. Obaseki also stated that UBTH would fully ensure the safety of Yongxing Steel Company's employees and work together for mutual development and prosperity.
