YONGXING STEEL COMPANY RENOVATED AND EQUIPPED OGUA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

On this day 22nd March, 2024, the Management of Yongxing Steel Company in Benin city  commissioned the renovated community  health  center that was built  by Government  several years ago and equipped it with medical beds, fans, installation of borehole, electricity supply, Generator, medicine and many more items.

The Managing Director of Yongxing Steel Company Frank Wang, in his opening  speech to the people of the community and Government  Ministry  and Agencies  represented, stated that the renovation was to help the health center in the community can have access to basic health care. He quote " We must at this point state clearly that this health center was not originally built by Yongxing. It was built by the European Union. But over time, it fell into a deplorable state. Yongxing Steel Company been a responsible cooperate citizen and in adherence with the community relations program, The Company decided to take up the renovation. In addition,  some items such as medical beds, fans, installation of borehole, electricity supply, Generator, were provided  to improve the services  rendered by the health center. We are using this opportunity  to handover  this project formally  to the Edo state Government through the State Ministry of  Health; We promise to continue  to support the Health center in any way we can , by providing medicine  required from time to time, and we enjoin the people of Ogua Community to take care of the health center because Government alone cannot do it. Collective effort is required "

Furthermore, the Enogie of Ogua Community  His Royal Highness  Aghaghowen Ogiesoba Sylvester, Appreciated  the Management  and Staff of Yongxing  Steel Company  for their enormous contribution  so far and going beyond the act of MOU between the Community  and Yongxing  steel company.  He stated the fact that Yongxing Steel Company has been in the fore front in the development of Ogua Community, and their impact is been felt by all in the Community.

In the light of the commissioning of the health center, the special guest of honor, Hon. Dr. Samuel Ali, Commissioner of Health Edo State who represented the State Governor commended the effort of Yongxing Steel Company  for her contribution over the years towards the development of Ogua Community, after seeing several projects that has been done by the company. He pleaded with the Community to cooperate  with the company  for even development  and peaceful  coexistence.

In attendance of the commissioning of the renovated health center,  are the Executive Secretary Edo State Primary health care agency, Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen; Ikpoba Okha Local Government  medical  officer, Dr. (Mrs) Beauty; The officer in charge of Ogua Primary Health Center, Mrs. Ohonba Ehizogie Mildred; Elders and people of Ogua Community.
